Stephen F. Thompson, Jr.
As managing member, I am actively engaged in all areas of our firm's
practice. I represent clients who are experiencing a difficult time in
their life that has caused them to resort to legal action, whether it
is the result of an injury caused by the negligence of others, involvement
in an automobile collision, or a work-related injury.
After law school I worked as law clerk in Birmingham, Alabama for some
of Jefferson County's circuit judges. I worked on several dozen jury
trials. I witnessed many varieties of trial techniques and strategies
from all sorts of different lawyers. I learned what worked, and I learned
what did not work. During each jury trial, I was the trial court's
main contact point with the jury. If there were any questions from the
jurors, they were communicated to the judge and the other lawyers through
me. Ten years later, this experience has proved to be an invaluable foundation
for a litigation practice.
I have grown to operate a State-wide practice covering the entire geographic
area of Alabama. In my years of practicing law, I have successfully completed
one type of civil action or another in almost every county in Alabama.
Prior to attending law school I graduated from Auburn University with a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. My experience at Auburn
provides a solid foundation for representing clients who have complex
financial issues under dispute, whether it is a small business owner who
has suffered a personal injury and must rely on complex records to show
loss of income, or an injured worker dealing with the complexities of
the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Act.
Due to my passion for practicing law, and my comfort level in a court room,
I do not limit my firm to one area of civil practice. We focus on personal
injury and workers’ compensation matters because those are the types
of legal matters that are likely to require a lawyer who is comfortable
in a courtroom.
Somewhere along the way I received a tremendous blessing and met my wife
Hannah in a courthouse. She is a lawyer too, a fantastic one, and an even
better friend. We have three small kids who have way more energy than
anyone deserves. They are busy discovering Pokémon, Batman and
hair bows. They are the light of our lives, and occupy most of our time
away from work.
